Utah Jazz Roster Report 2009-04-23

Utah Jazz Roster Report 2009-04-23
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Deron Williams, Shooting guard Ronnie Brewer, Small forward Kyle Korver, Power forward Carlos Boozer, Center Jarron Collins. Bench -- Guard Brevin Knight, Forward Matt Harpring, Forward C.J. Miles, Forward Andrei Kirilenko, Forward Paul Millsap.

PLAYER NOTES:

--F Kyle Korver went 1-for-5 in the first quarter but ditched the sleeves and pads he'd been wearing for his various wrist and elbow injuries and went on to finish with 12 points on 4-for-10 shooting. Korver was in the starting lineup again.

--F Carlos Boozer followed his 27-point effort in Game 1 with 20 points and 10 rebounds in Game 2. Boozer's follow-up as part of a three-point play and drive for a layup helped the Jazz close within three points in the fourth quarter.

--C Jarron Collins made his second consecutive start in place of Mehmet Okur. Although Collins went scoreless, he did contribute four fouls to the Jazz's cause.

--G Ronnie Brewer came out hitting his jumper, one game after he missed three in the first quarter with Kobe Bryant all but abandoning him on defense. Brewer finished with 14 points on 5-for-12 shooting.

--F Matt Harpring came off the bench to play seven minutes and went scoreless. Harpring missed the Jazz's shootaround Tuesday after suffering a stomach reaction to antibiotics he had been taking for a nasal infection he came down with last week.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--C Mehmet Okur missed his third consecutive game overall and second in the playoffs with the strained right hamstring he suffered April 13. Okur continues to say he is making progress, but he hasn't been able to do much more than light running and shooting and hasn't participated in a practice. His status for Game 3 is uncertain.
