Utah Jazz Roster Report 2009-01-31
ROTATION: Starters--Point guard Deron Williams, Shooting guard Ronnie Brewer, Small forward C.J. Miles, Power forward Paul Millsap, Center Mehmet Okur. Bench -- Guard Brevin Knight, Guard Kyle Korver, Forward Matt Harpring, Center Kosta Koufos.

PLAYER NOTES:

--C Jarron Collins replaced Mehmet Okur for the final 2:28 of the first half after Okur picked up his second foul. Collins scored only his second basket of the season after he was forgotten by the Thunder on an inbounds play, giving the Jazz a 13-point halftime lead.

--F Paul Millsap finished with 16 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in his first game after ditching the brace he wore on his left knee after hyperextending it Dec. 23. Millsap said the bruised right knee he suffered earlier this month is about 80 percent.

--C Kyrylo Fesenko has supplanted both Kosta Koufos and Jarron Collins as the Jazz's first center off the bench since returning from an eight-game stay in the NBA Development League. Fesenko had four points (two dunks) and two rebounds in 15 minutes Friday.

--G Ronnie Price was a college teammate at Utah Valley University (then Utah Valley State College) of guard Ryan Toolson, who scored a school-record 63 points Thursday in a four-overtime victory over Chicago State. It was the most points scored in Division I basketball this season. Price and Toolson shared the school scoring record of 38 points entering the season, though Toolson broke it with 41 in the season's second game.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--F Carlos Boozer has been cleared to increase strengthening exercises for his surgically repaired left knee. He said he expects to start running again possibly by the end of next week. Boozer has missed 35 games since he was injured Nov. 19 against Milwaukee but is hopeful he can resume playing sometime around the All-Star break.

--F Andrei Kirilenko underwent surgery Friday to remove bone fragments from his injured right ankle. Kirilenko had been hoping to play through the discomfort with a series of cortisone shots that ultimately proved unsuccessful. The Jazz will wait to reevaluate Kirilenko on Monday before setting a timetable for his return, which isn't expected until after the All-Star break.
