Utah Jazz Roster Report 2009-11-10

Utah Jazz Roster Report 2009-11-10ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Deron Williams, Shooting guard Ronnie Brewer, Small forward Andrei Kirilenko, Power forward Carlos Boozer, Center Mehmet Okur. Bench -- Forward Paul Millsap, Guard Ronnie Price, Guard Wesley Matthews, Center Kyrylo Fesenko

PLAYER NOTES

--G Deron Williams totaled 16 assists against the Knicks but otherwise had his toughest game of the season. Battling a bad back in the second half, Williams made just 2 of 10 shots and committed seven turnovers.

--G Wesley Matthews saw extended action as the backup shooting guard and small forward against the Knicks. Matthews finished with six points and two rebounds in 19 minutes, though he did commit three turnovers.

--G Ronnie Brewer hit a key jumper with 2:12 left to put the Jazz up by five but struggled with his shot, for the most part. Brewer had 12 points on 5-for-13 shooting and missed a jumper with 6.4 seconds left that gave New York a chance to win or tie.

MEDICAL WATCH

--G C.J. Miles (thumb surgery) had the cast from his left hand removed Monday in New York but is at least two weeks away from resuming practice. Miles said doctors were optimistic that he'd be back playing by the time the Jazz return to the New York area for a Dec. 16 game at New Jersey. He suffered a ruptured ligament in his thumb during the preseason.

--G Kyle Korver (knee surgery) is expected to miss six weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery Oct. 28 in New York to remove a bone spur from his left knee. The Jazz have yet to set an official timetable with respect to Korver, who was cleared to increase his activity level Monday. Korver headed to Santa Barbara, Calif., for a week of work at a center with which the Jazz have a relationship.

--G Ronnie Price (sprained left big toe) had to leave Monday's game in the second quarter when he felt a pop on the underside of his foot after coming up with a steal. X-rays were negative, but Price did not return to the game and was uncertain about his availability for Wednesday's game against the Celtics.

--F Matt Harpring (ankle, knee problems) remains on the Jazz's roster but is unlikely to play again. Harpring continues to deal with the effects of a devastating infection that followed ankle surgery in 2008 as well as the effects of multiple knee surgeries throughout his career. Harpring did not join the Jazz for training camp or the preseason, remaining at home with his family in Atlanta.
