Utah Jazz Roster Report 2009-11-09

Utah Jazz Roster Report 2009-11-09ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Deron Williams, Shooting guard Ronnie Brewer, Small forward Andrei Kirilenko, Power forward Carlos Boozer, Center Mehmet Okur. Bench -- Forward Paul Millsap, Guard Ronnie Price, Guard Wesley Matthews, Center Kyrylo Fesenko.

PLAYER NOTES:

--Deron Williams handed out 15 assists. He had gone four games

without recording at least 10 assists. It was his longest

single-digit assist streak since November 2007. Williams scored seven points on 3-for-5 shooting and added seven assists in the first quarter, meaning he had a hand in 10 of Utah's first 12 field goals.

--Jazz rookie Wesley Mathews continues to demand playing time after another eye-opening effort. He scored all 11 of his points during a five-minute stretch of the first and second quarters, when Utah outscored Sacramento, 17-10. Mathews has scored 23 points in the last two games. "It feels good, but I'd feel a lot better if we had won," he said.

--G C.J. Miles (thumb surgery) missed his sixth straight game. He is likely out until December after needing surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb suffered during a practice late in the preseason practice. Miles gets his cast off Monday before starting rehab. The injury is further complicated by the fact it is to Miles' shooting hand. Miles averaged 9.1 points last season.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Kyle Korver (knee surgery) is expected to miss another four weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery Oct. 28 in New York to remove a bone spur. The Jazz have not set an official timetable with respect to Korver, who was able to play in only one of the team's preseason games while battling knee soreness.

--F Matt Harpring (ankle, knee problems) remains on the Jazz's roster but is unlikely to play again. This week, coach Jerry Sloan said, "I don't believe he'll be coming back." Harpring continues to deal with the effects of a devastating infection that followed ankle surgery in 2008 as well as the effects of multiple knee surgeries throughout his

career. Harpring did not join the Jazz for training camp or the preseason, remaining at home with his family in Atlanta.
