ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Deron Williams, Shooting guard Ronnie Brewer, Small forward Andrei Kirilenko, Power forward Carlos Boozer, Center Mehmet Okur. Bench -- Forward Paul Millsap, Guard Ronnie Price, Guard Wesley Matthews, Center Kyrylo Fesenko. PLAYER NOTES: --G Deron Williams had 22 points and five assists but still has won only once in his hometown of Dallas since coming to the Jazz. Even that 2007 victory had an asterisk, as the Mavericks opted to rest many of their regulars heading into the playoffs as the Western Conference's top seed.
--C Mehmet Okur bounced back after going 1-for-8 in the first half to finish with 14 points and 14 rebounds against the Mavericks. Okur was overmatched in the fourth quarter, though, trying to slow Nowitzki, especially given that it was just Okur's second game back from a mildly sprained ankle and knee.
--C Kyrylo Fesenko continues to see fluctuating playing time. Fesenko saw 11 minutes of action Tuesday, one night after he failed to get off the bench until the final two minutes of garbage time against Houston. Fesenko had two points and a rebound but was physical on the defensive end against Nowitzki.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--G C.J. Miles (thumb surgery) is likely out until December after needing surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb suffered during a preseason practice. Miles will wear a cast for four weeks before beginning rehab. The injury is further complicated by the fact it is to Miles' shooting hand. Miles had 16 points in the Jazz's first preseason game.
--G Kyle Korver (knee surgery) is expected to miss six weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery Oct. 28 in New York to remove a bone spur from his left knee. The Jazz have yet to set an official timetable with respect to Korver, who was able to play in only one of the team's preseason games while battling knee soreness.
--F Matt Harpring (ankle, knee problems) remains on the Jazz's roster but is unlikely to play again. Harpring continues to deal with the effects of a devastating infection that followed ankle surgery in 2008 as well as the effects of multiple knee surgeries throughout his career. Harpring did not join the Jazz for training camp or the preseason, remaining at home with his family in Atlanta.
