Utah Jazz Roster Report 2009-01-16

Utah Jazz Roster Report 2009-01-16
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Deron Williams, Shooting guard Ronnie Price, Small forward Ronnie Brewer, Power forward Andrei Kirilenko, Center Mehmet Okur. Bench -- Guard Brevin Knight, Guard Kyle Korver, Forward Matt Harpring, Center Kosta Koufos, Guard Morris Almond, Center Jarron Collins.

PLAYER NOTES:

--C Mehmet Okur struggled in following up his career-high 43-point game against Indiana. Two nights later, Okur finished with nine points on 3-of-12 shooting against the Thunder. He landed on the bench with four fouls with more than six minutes left in the third quarter.

--G Ronnie Brewer had his least productive game of the season, finishing with only two points on 1-of-6 shooting and two turnovers. Brewer had to come back with the Jazz reserves to burn the last 2:07 of the blowout.

--G Ronnie Price started again in place of the injured C.J. Miles but picked up four fouls in 15 minutes and was badly mismatched against bigger Thunder guards Desmond Mason and Kevin Durant. The 6-foot-9 Durant guarded the 6-foot Price on the defensive end.

--G Deron Williams finished with 25 points but had only two in the first quarter, when he appeared to be testing his bruised left foot. Williams has missed the Jazz's last three practices, the first two with a sinus infection and the third with the bruised foot.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--F Paul Millsap is day-to-day with a bruised right knee after undergoing an MRI exam Wednesday in Oklahoma City. He has missed the Jazz's last two games, only the fourth and fifth games he's missed in his three-year career.

--G C.J. Miles is hopeful he can return Friday at Memphis after missing three games with a sprained right ankle. Miles felt he was too close to returning for good to play Wednesday and then possibly have to sit out Friday.
