ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Deron Williams, Shooting guard Ronnie Brewer, Small forward C.J. Miles, Power forward Carlos Boozer, Center Kosta Koufos. Bench -- Guard Brevin Knight, Guard Kyle Korver, Forward Andrei Kirilenko, Forward Paul Millsap.
PLAYER NOTES: --G Kyle Korver went 3-for-9 against the Wizards and has gone 4-for-16 the last two games. Korver did hit three jumpers in the fourth quarter but admitted afterward. "The last couple games, I've just been completely out of sync, no rhythm." Korver has been bothered by a right wrist injury but tore the tape off his wrist in frustration in the second half.
--F Paul Millsap fell hard on a three-point play with 2:13 remaining and lay on the floor for several anxious moments. Millsap suffered a bruised left backside and left elbow and said his leg went numb for a second before feeling returned. The night before in Philadelphia, Millsap needed three stitches to close a gash under his right eye.
--G C.J. Miles came into Wednesday's game shooting just 39.5 percent this season. But Miles broke out of his slump by connecting on two three-pointers and scoring a season-high 16 points. It still wasn't enough to earn Miles fourth-quarter minutes, as he played only 20 seconds in the final period.
--C Kosta Koufos made his second start in place of Mehmet Okur, who remains in Turkey with his ailing father. Koufos scored 12 points and made a handful impressive plays, including a third-quarter block of Antawn Jamison and a fourth-quarter jumper off an inbounds play with a second left on the shot clock.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--F Andrei Kirilenko had to leave Wednesday's game in the fourth quarter with a dislocated right index finger. He suffered the injury going for a rebound and originally feared he had broken the finger. X-rays were negative, however, and Kirilenko is listed as day-to-day for Friday. He will wear a splint. The Jazz are officially saying he sprained the tip of the finger.
--C Jarron Collins returned from Los Angeles after seeking a third opinion on his injured right elbow. Collins underwent a cortisone shot and is hopeful of returning to practice this week. He suffered the injury -- a combination bone bruise, triceps tendinitis and bursitis -- in a summer golf-cart accident. Collins played in only two preseason games and has yet to log any regular-season minutes.
