--With the Rocky Mountain Revue canceled this summer after a two-decade run, the Jazz headed to Orlando for summer league play. Unlike in the Revue, where the Jazz played in front of packed houses at Salt Lake Community College, the Orlando league is closed to the public.
"We're going to try like heck to have the Revue back next year," general manager Kevin O'Connor said. "We think it's really good for our organization and for our fans." The Jazz are unequivocally opposed to taking their young players to Las Vegas for summer league. That's where the major NBA summer league is currently held.
--The Jazz had been hoping to see second-year center Kosta Koufos in summer league, but Koufos was held out of the week's games with a dislocated left ring finger. He suffered the injury in a pickup game at home in Canton, Ohio. Koufos did report to Orlando noticeably bulkier after adding 15 to 20 pounds.
"I feel more confident," Koufos said. "I feel like with that extra weight, I'll be able to push people around better."
Koufos will see game action this summer, playing for the Greek team at the European championships.
