Utah Jazz Notes, Quotes 2009-01-29
--The Jazz hadn't lost to a Western Conference team at home all season before Tuesday. They now have dropped six home games this season, two more than the entire 2007-08 season. In addition, the Jazz fell a full game out of playoff position and 5.5 games behind Denver in the Northwest Division.

--With the Jazz having endured several weeks of slow starts, coach Jerry Sloan said he discussed changing his starting five. He decided to stick with young guards C.J. Miles and Ronnie Brewer and was rewarded with a 28-25 first-quarter lead Tuesday against San Antonio. Sloan cited the need to live through the growing pains with both Miles and Brewer as they gain experience.

--Carlos Boozer will be re-evaluated Wednesday in Los Angeles after undergoing left knee surgery Jan. 9. Boozer said the swelling in his knee had diminished. He was planning to move to another stage in rehab and he was hopeful of returning in another two to four weeks. His importance to the Jazz was underscored by Tuesday's loss, which left the Jazz 17-17 in Boozer's absence.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "We're just getting farther and farther down on the totem pole" -- Deron Williams after Utah's losing streak reached four games.
