--F Carlos Boozer is getting league-wide recognition for his strong start to the season. Boozer was named Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday for the third time in his Jazz career. Boozer has scored 21 points or more in the Jazz's last eight games and finished with 27 points and seven rebounds Monday against the Spurs. Boston's Kevin Garnett was the Eastern Conference honoree. --The Jazz allegedly were the beneficiaries of a referee conspiracy against Allen Iverson in a Jan. 6, 2007 game against Denver, according to disgraced former referee Tim Donaghy. Donaghy charged in a "60 Minutes" interview that the referee crew that night -- himself included -- decided to punish Iverson, who was fined $25,000 but not suspended for critical comments about another referee. The Jazz won the game 96-84, though Donaghy's claims were greeted with skepticism since Iverson shot more free throws than any player. QUOTE TO NOTE: "I'm really excited for our players. I don't get that excited very often. But I was excited for them tonight because I think they needed that to try to move forward with the way we've been trying to play." -- Jazz coach Jerry Sloan after Monday's victory over San Antonio.
