--The Thunder's victory over the Jazz represented a breakthrough of sorts. They had been 0-20 against winning teams before beating the Jazz. They hadn't beaten a team by more than 11 points, either, before routing the Jazz. The Thunder opened the season 2-24 and were on pace to challenge the nine-win 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers as the worst team in NBA history. But their improved play of late is putting that talk to rest.
--F Paul Millsap missed his second consecutive game and went for an MRI on his bruised right knee. The MRI confirmed Millsap suffered only a bruise. He will be day-to-day going forward. Millsap did say his right knee currently felt worse than when he hyperextended his left knee in December, an injury that cost him three games. Andrei Kirilenko will start in his place. --Wednesday's loss would have been a lot more understandable in Miami, New York or Los Angeles. But the Jazz were in Oklahoma City, an all but distraction-free place to spend an off night.
"There are some teams around the league that when they go on the road, they go out all night," Matt Harpring said. "I don't think we have a team like that."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "The last thing you want to do is to let teams think that they can beat you. This team had no right to think that they could beat us, but we gave them that right at the beginning of the game. The whole game, they played with confidence." -- F Matt Harpring, on the Jazz's shocking loss to the 6-33 Thunder.
