Utah Jazz Notes, Quotes 2008-12-23
--After the schedule was released in August, the Jazz appealed to the NBA and the Bucks to move Tuesday's game to Monday in order to get a jump on Christmas. Their request was turned down, leaving the Jazz with two off days between games less than 100 miles apart. The Jazz will take Sunday off and practice Monday in Chicago before heading to Milwaukee. The Bucks might have decided not to play Monday because it conflicts with a Bears-Packers game.

--F Carlos Boozer, who has missed 17 games with a left knee injury, will visit a specialist in Los Angeles on Dec. 29. Boozer underwent an inconclusive MRI exam on Thursday in Detroit, but doctors believe he is bothered by a bone bruise that accompanied the strained left quadriceps tendon he suffered Nov. 19. Whenever he works out, Boozer feels a pain in the back of his knee. He is expected to miss at least the next four games.

--The Jazz had to deal with a travel disruption after Friday's double-overtime victory at Detroit. With a winter storm dumping 8 inches of snow on the area, the Jazz had to stay overnight after the game and leave for Chicago on Saturday morning. They had to bus an hour to the airport and didn't arrive in Chicago until 10 a.m. They opted to cancel their typical breakfast meeting for the sake of grabbing extra sleep.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I don't like to hear people say you should be tired when you're getting paid to play basketball, because guys that work 8 to 5, they don't want to hear about a guy being tired." -- Jazz coach Jerry Sloan, on the role scheduling played in Saturday's loss.
