--Just when they get Deron Williams back from a sprained left ankle, the Jazz watched Andrei Kirilenko leave Saturday's game with an injured right ankle in the second quarter. Kirilenko said he had been bothered by discomfort in the ankle after Friday's game and felt it weaken in the 10 minutes he played against the Nets. Tests were negative for any sprains or fractures. The Jazz already are playing with Carlos Boozer.
--With the Jazz playing the second game of a rare back-to-back set of home games, coach Jerry Sloan opted to keep his usual routine and not schedule a morning shootaround Saturday. He immediately regretted his decision and told his players as much after the game, questioning what happened to their energy. "None of it's on him. It's all on us. We just didn't come out and play well tonight," Kyle Korver said.
The Jazz last played back-to-back games at home in February 2001.
--G Deron Williams had been hesitant about playing in both ends of a back-to-back so soon after returning from his ankle injury. But Williams opted to play Saturday after logging only 27 minutes the night before against Sacramento. Had Williams not played, the Jazz would have been down to only one point guard with Brevin Knight nursing an injured left index finger. Williams will have to make the same decision twice more this week with the Jazz playing two sets of back-to-back games.
