--C Mehmet Okur returned to the Jazz after an emergency trip to
Turkey last week, where his father, Abdullah, was hospitalized in an
intensive care unit after an epileptic seizure. Okur's father's
condition eventually stabilized. "Life still go on," Okur said, "and
I've got to look forward and just pray for him and hopefully
everything's going to be all right."
--G Deron Williams missed his third game after an aborted return
from a sprained left ankle last week. Williams insisted there was no
lesson to be learned about coming back too soon from an injury. "If I
wouldn't have played, I still would have been sore because I still
would have been doing rehab exercises that hurt probably more than
playing on it hurt. So either way, it's going to hurt," Williams said.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "It was a great win for us after having gone
through what we've gone through the last week or so." -- Jazz coach
