Utah Jazz Notes, Quotes 2008-11-13
--Jazz coach Jerry Sloan had a short exchange with Wizards owner Abe Pollin outside the locker room after the game. Pollin drafted Sloan as owner of the then-Baltimore Bullets but let him leave for Chicago after his rookie season in the expansion draft. "Made a big mistake letting you go," Pollin told Sloan. Pollin was in a wheelchair due as the result of what he described as a "serious illness" but vowed to get better. "I know you're a tough guy," Sloan said. "Not as tough as you," Pollin shot back.

--As a result of the infection that set in after ankle surgery this summer and forced him to be hospitalized for four days, Matt Harpring once questioned whether he'd play again. But Harpring made his return in the first half of Wednesday's game, playing five minutes and scoring two points off a lay-up. "It's just good to get out on the court finally," Harpring said. "It's been a long summer, long rehab process. Honestly, I was just happy I was out there." Harpring had not played five-on-five competitively since the Jazz's playoff loss to the Lakers. He missed the entire preseason and first seven games of the regular season.

--The Jazz picked up right where they left off last season, when they went 3-8 when playing the second game of a back-to-back set on the road. The only teams they beat were Memphis (twice) and Milwaukee, giving up 109.8 points on average in the process. They will play a back-to-back at Charlotte and Cleveland to finish this five-game trip.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "We were just kind of in a lull, it seemed, like the entire game." -- Kyle Korver, on the Jazz's loss to Washington.
