The Jazz on Tuesday assigned second-year center Kyrylo Fesenko to the NBA Development League's Utah Flash. Fesenko is expected to play for the Flash in tonight's D-League Showcase game against Anaheim in Orem. "He's really worked hard here in practice and he's had a couple outings in the game where he's played well when he was out there," Jazz coach Jerry Sloan said.
"Just like to see him get in the game and play and see where he is, where he'll have a chance to play some minutes."
Fesenko has played 10 games with the Jazz this season, including a 12-point, 11-rebound effort in a double-overtime loss to Houston on Dec. 27. He played in 37 games last season with the Flash, including the Showcase.
How long Fesenko will remain on assignment in the D-League is uncertain. The Flash will play Thursday in the Showcase against Los Angeles and then travel to Los Angeles to play Friday, followed by a three-game trip next week.
Andrei Kirilenko, meanwhile, reported no problems with the bruised left knee that forced him to leave Monday's victory over Golden State in the fourth quarter. Kirilenko was set to practice, but did suffer a jammed finger and had his left hand wrapped.
