Carlos Boozer's remarkable play the first month of the season has drawn national notice, with Boozer selected Monday as the Western Conference Player of the Week for the third time in his Jazz career. Boston's Kevin Garnett was the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. Boozer previously won the award Dec. 18, 2006, as well as Nov. 6, 2006. He was Western Conference Player of the Month in November 2007. Boozer was selected an All-Star in both 2007 and 2008. He averaged 26.7 points and 13.7 rebounds while shooting 62.7 percent as the Jazz beat Memphis and Indiana and lost to Minnesota last week.
Boozer has scored 21 points or more while shooting 54.5 percent or better in the last seven games. He and Toronto's Chris Bosh are the only players in the NBA averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds a game.
