Morning Sports Summary - Take 2
A brilliant performance in Beijing has helped Chantal Petitclerc (PEH'-tee-clehr) earn a place in history.

The wheelchair racer has been named The Canadian Press female athlete of the year for the first time.

It's the first time a Paralympic athlete has ever captured the award.

Petitclerc was one of the most decorated athletes in China, capturing five gold medals.

(NBA-Raptors)

It's the kind of game the Toronto Raptors -- and Jermaine O'Neal -- have been waiting for all season.

O'Neal set a season high with 36 points as the Raptors held off the Sacramento Kings 107-101.

It's the second straight win for Toronto, now 2-and-2 on a six-game trip through the West.

Brad Miller and John Salmons led the way with 20 points apiece for the Kings.

(NBA-Heat)

Dwyane Wade scored 28 points as the Miami Heat beat Chicago 90-77 to surpass their win total from last season.

The win is the 16th of the season for the Heat, after they earned just 15 victories during the 2007-08 campaign.

Michael Beasley, the second pick in last summer's draft, had 14 points in his first meeting with top pick Derrick Rose.

The Bulls point guard finished with just 10 points on 3-of-14 shooting in the loss.

In other action on a busy N-B-A schedule . . .

Rashad McCants had 23 points and Al Jefferson added 21 as Minnesota outgunned New York 120-107.

Gerald Wallace had 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead Charlotte past New Jersey 95-87.

Hakim Warrick poured in 21 points off the bench to lift Memphis to a 108-105 win over Indiana.

Allen Iverson had a team-high 22 points as Detroit held on to beat Oklahoma City 90-88.

Chris Paul had game highs with 26 points and 10 assists in New Orleans' 88-79 victory over Houston.

J-R Smith had 27 points and Chauncey Billups added 26 as Denver downed Philadelphia 105-101.

Ronnie Brewer's 21 points were the difference in Utah's 97-88 triumph over Dallas.

And Stephen Jackson's 28 points helped Golden State shock Boston 99-89.

(NBA-Ratings)

A Christmas Day tilt between the N-B-A's marquee teams led to a ratings bonanza in the U-S.

The game between Boston and the L-A Lakers drew the highest regular-season audience in four years.

The 5.3 rating represents a 51-per-cent increase over last year's late Christmas game.

The Lakers won this year's game 92-83, ending the Celtics' 19-game winning streak.

(NBA-Millsap)

Utah Jazz forward Paul Millsap will miss seven to 10 days because of a sprained knee ligament.

He injured his left knee Tuesday night in Milwaukee, but returned to play the second half in a brace.

Millsap finished with 11 points and nine rebounds, ending his string of 15 straight double-doubles.

He was starting for Carlos Boozer, who has missed 18 straight games because of a strained quad tendon.
