Jazz owner Miller dead at 64
Utah Jazz owner and businessman Larry Miller died Friday afternoon due to complications from diabetes. He was 64.

Miller had been in failing health since last summer, when he suffered a major heart attack. He had double lower-leg amputation surgery last month to stem the diabetes complications, but was soon battling more health issues.

Miller, who owned car dealerships, movie theaters and other businesses, is best known as the man who purchased a share of the Jazz to keep the team in Utah in 1984, and bought the entire club a year later. In 1991, he financed the construction of what is now Energy Solutions Arena for the team to play in.

Funeral arrangements are still pending.
