The University of Utah's Luke Nevill tops a list of 14 players participating in weekend workouts for the Jazz , who continue preparations for Thursday night's NBA draft.
Nevill averaged 16.8 points, seven rebounds and 2.7 blocks for the Utes last season. He is projected as a possible second-round pick. The Jazz own the 20th pick in the first round and the 50th overall pick in the second round.
On Saturday morning, six players will work out in Salt Lake City, including Xavier's Derrick Brown (6-foot-8, 227 pounds), Washington's Justin Dentmon (5-11, 185), Florida State's Toney Douglas (6-2, 200), Oklahoma's Taylor Griffin (6-7, 238), Syracuse's Paul Harris (6-5, 228) and Pittsbugh's Sam Young (6-6, 220).
Griffin's brother, Blake, is almost certain to be the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.
Brown and Young are considered late-first-rounders possibilities.
On Sunday, Nevill will be joined by seven others at the Jazz's practice facility
The group includes UConn's Jeff Adrien (6-7, 243), UCLA's Darren Collison (6-0, 160), Houston's Marcus Cousin (6-11, 250), Utah's Shaun Green (6-8, 220), Gonzaga's Josh Heytvelt (6-11, 260), Wake Forest's James Johnson (6-9, 245) and Gonzaga's Jeremy Pargo (6-2, 220).
Johnson is the highest-rated player the Jazz have brought in for a pre-draft workout. Most NBA scouts believe he is a top-16 pick, barring a late slide.
Born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyo., Johnson averaged 15 points and 8.5 rebounds in his only season at Wake Forest.
