Jazz add Real Madrid to their European tour

Jazz add Real Madrid to their European tour
The Jazz finalized their preseason European tour plans on Tuesday, with the team announcing -- as previously reported by The Tribune -- that it will face the Chicago Bulls and Real Madrid over three days in early October.

What the Jazz roster will look like by that time, though, is anyone's guess, and Deron Williams said as much on Tuesday, during a teleconference announcing the Oct. 8 Real Madrid game.

With the uncertainty surrounding Carlos Boozer's future in Utah, as well as a host of teammates who have opt-outs or expiring contracts, Williams acknowledged some concern. But the star point guard said only time will answer the many questions facing the organization over the next few months.

"I have no clue how it's all going to work out," Williams said. "There are so many things that can happen. The team could be totally different by the time September rolls around. There are a lot of ways the organization can go."

According to the Jazz , no decision has been made on whether the games will be televised locally. The games have been televised on ESPN in past years.

For the Jazz , the games represent a challenge in the fact that they come early in the preseason, which may present a familiarity obstacle if significant roster turnover takes place over the course of the summer.

"We should talk to coach [Jerry] Sloan about cutting training camp down to one a days," Williams quipped. "It's going to take a couple of days to get into shape, but hopefully guys are ready once they come into camp anyway."

Williams said his ankle, which caused him problems all last year after spraining it in a preseason game against the Bulls, was feeling better. He's not back to playing Basketball yet, but Williams said he's doing other things such as biking and swimming and lifting weights to stay in shape.

"I'm not pounding on it," Williams said. "It feels a lot better. Last year, the ankle hurt every day of my life, even when walking around the house. So it feels good to feel pain free."
