
OREM -- On assignment from the Utah Jazz , Kyrylo Fesenko suited up for the first time this season as a member of the Utah Flash Tuesday night.
In Utah's first game of the NBA Developmental League's 2009 Showcase, a 109-100 win over the Anaheim Arsenal, Fesenko shot 4-of-7 from the field, scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds while logging 24 minutes. The seven-foot Ukrainian center started the game alongside fellow assignees J.R. Giddens and Bill Walker, both on assignment from the Boston Celtics.
Fesenko played in 10 games this season for the Jazz, starting just one. Playing for the injury-plagued Jazz this season, Fesenko averaged 2.7 points and 2.6 rebounds. His most productive outing was a 12-point, 11-rebound effort against Houston in December.
In 37 games for the Flash last season, Fesenko averaged 10.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest while earning a spot in the league's all-star game. E-mail: jdavis@desnews.com
