It is with great concern that I write. My concern is for the financial welfare of Utah Jazz player Carlos Boozer and his family. Boozer recently said: "The economy sucks.... Just to be quite frank about it, it sucks for everybody. My family, your family, you, me, everybody. It's something else we'll have to talk about this summer, too" ("Struggling Boozer says he's about 85 percent," Tribune , March 13). This was said in reference to Boozer becoming a free agent after the 2009 Basketball season. Could Boozer be referring to a possible raise (or lack of) in a potential new contract? I propose a statewide "Bucks for Boozer" fund be set up for Carlos, who currently makes only $12.7 million a year. I could live on half that amount; maybe even a quarter if I clip coupons!
