As for this week's opt-out controversy, Boozer left a message for owner Larry Miller , who called his comments "one of the top 10 stupidest things I've ever heard an NBA player do in 24 years." He also apologized to general manager Kevin O'Connor .

"I feel like I did the wrong thing by speaking about it, but it's over, it's done with," Boozer said. "Obviously, I let them know that I want to be in a Jazz uniform and they know that.

"The rest of it, I've been instructed to say that the front office with the Jazz and my agent will work everything else out and I'll [give] my input this summer.

Thorny reunion

More than two months after he sprained his left ankle in an Oct. 18 preseason game, Deron Williams will get the chance to repay Chicago's Derrick Rose tonight.

Williams suffered the injury, which kept him out for 13 games, when he landed on Rose's foot on a three-point attempt.

"I feel like he's a big reason [of] the bad start to my season," Williams said. "But he didn't do it on purpose. It's not like he tried to sprain my ankle."

Getting started

Jazz coach Jerry Sloan opted to stick with his same starting five Friday with C.J. Miles and continue bringing Andrei Kirilenko off the bench. Miles finished with seven points in 17 minutes.

"I just thought they're young guys, I've got to see what they've got again today," Sloan said. "After they had a bad game, now let's see how they fight back."

Blame game

Sloan took the blame for not calling timeout after Richard Hamilton 's tying jumper with 0.4 seconds left in regulation. Instead of setting up for a last shot, Kirilenko had to throw a desperation heave.

"I should have given our guys a chance to try to win the ballgame in that position," Sloan said. "That was a mistake on my part, which I make of a lot of them."
